New Orleans Being Eaten Alive?

As my wife and I are still recovering from our first visit to New Orleans this past summer, I was at first saddened but ultimately hopeful after reading this story about how termites are threatening many of New Orleans' most historic buildings (the city boasts more on the National Register of Historic Places than any other in the US).

In other NO news, it's Mardi Gras time (oh, to be there for a few days!) and a young woman apparently fell from a balcony while watching a big parade. That could very easily have happened to me last July but I was smart enough to stay off those bloody balconies after my 2nd or 3rd Hand Grenade.
